The Wyman Tavern, one of Keene's most historic houses, was built more than two centuries ago. The Tavern is maintained as a period house museum representing the period from 1770 to 1820. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It was from this tavern that 29 minutemen started their march to Lexington and Concord in April of 1775 under the command of Captain Wyman, a veteran of the Indian Wars.
If you pass along a quiet New England road in fall and come upon what appears to be someone's misplaced home, you're tempted to recall the romantic version of the origin of covered bridges.

This old-time New England home is filled with original family furnishings and fabulous collections which offer a gracious view of a vanishing lifestyle of culture, refinement and travel. Preview the history, virtual tour, and all the offerings on our web site. But to truly experience the house and nature preserve, come and visit both sites in the historic New England city of Keene, New Hampshire.
